Nassau Bay's Maritime Safety Committee will consider new wildlife warning signs around the city's lagoon and creek and two marine safety bulletin boards when it meets Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1800 Space Park Drive, Suite 200.

The committee will also hear a presentation on a proposed Voluntary Vessel Safety Check Day in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The free, non-enforcement inspections verify that recreational boats meet federal and state safety equipment requirements; boaters who pass receive a safety decal. No date for the event has been set.

Both the wildlife signs and bulletin boards are listed as discussion and possible action items on the corrected agenda posted July 27 by City Secretary Maria Rodriguez. The committee will also vote on approving its June 2026 meeting minutes.

The Aids to Navigation subcommittee will report on the condition of navigation markers across Nassau Bay's waterways and any needed maintenance.

Residents may address the committee on waterway-related matters for up to three minutes each during the public comment period. Under the Texas Open Meetings Act, committee members cannot discuss or act on items not posted on the agenda. Nassau Bay City Hall can be reached at 281-333-4211.
