Seabrook families will get their first look at a newly renovated Pelican Bay Municipal Pool on Saturday, Aug. 22, when the city hosts a ribbon-cutting ceremony and one-day-only free public swim.
The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. at the pool, 1109 Hammer St. Gates open immediately after for swimming that runs until 6 p.m.
What's new
The renovation added a new lap pool, a sunbathing platform and upgraded shade structures to the existing facility. The city described the project as "major facility improvements" in its event announcement posted July 31.
The pool will not stay open through the rest of summer. According to the city's event listing, limited late-season lifeguard staffing means the Aug. 22 swim is a one-day preview only. The full regular swim season at the renovated facility is expected to begin in 2027.
What to know before you go
Admission is free. Spots are first-come, first-served, and capacity may be limited to maintain safe occupancy. The city encourages guests to bring their own chairs, as on-site seating is limited.
Attendees should also know the city plans to capture drone and ground-level photography and video during the event.
