Six restaurants in Webster, Clear Lake Shores and the Baybrook Mall area, plus one in nearby Kemah, are offering multi-course prix fixe meals through Sept. 7 as part of Houston Restaurant Weeks, with a portion of every check going to the Houston Food Bank.
The 23rd annual event launched Aug. 1 and features more than 350 restaurants across Greater Houston. Locally, diners can choose from Brazilian steakhouses, Vietnamese-inspired fare, Indian and Nepalese cuisine, a coastal seafood spot and a nationally recognized steakhouse chain. Dinner menus are priced at $39 or $55 per person. Brunch and lunch options run $25. All menus are available for dine-in and takeout.
Here's the local lineup, according to Visit Bay Area Houston:
Avenida Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse (201 West Bay Area Blvd., Webster). $39 dinner. A four-course Brazilian menu featuring 21-day aged picanha, St. Louis-style pork ribs and a duo of chocolate mousse cake and cheesecake for dessert.
Gauchos Do Sul (415 Royal Tern Way, Webster). $55 dinner. Three courses plus an unlimited gourmet salad bar, with grilled meats including gaucho steak, picanha and grilled octopus.
Noon Mirch (505 East NASA Parkway, Webster). $55 dinner. Indian and Nepalese flavors across three courses, from butter chicken samosas and Kashmiri-style braised lamb to kheer brûlée for dessert.
Perry's Steakhouse & Grille (700 Baybrook Mall Drive, Baybrook Mall). $55 dinner. A three-course menu headlined by Perry's Famous Pork Chop, chargrilled salmon or a 6-ounce filet, with gluten-free modifications available.
REMTON (132 West Bay Area Blvd., Webster). $39 dinner. Vietnamese and Asian-inspired three-course menu with dishes like chawanmushi, bánh xèo and tonkotsu black ramen.
Schafer's Coastal Bar & Grille (1002 Aspen Road, Clear Lake Shores). $39 dinner. Waterfront three-course coastal fare including blackened redfish, Snapper Pontchartrain and Outriggers Tacos' famous redfish tacos.
eculent (709 Harris Ave., Kemah). $55 dinner. A multi-course creative menu featuring foie gras and caviar brioche, wild mushroom risotto and chicha morada sorbet. eculent is in nearby Kemah, just outside the immediate Clear Lake area.
For every $25 brunch or lunch sold, $1 goes to the Houston Food Bank. Dinner sales contribute $3 per $39 meal and $5 per $55 meal. Each dollar donated generates approximately three meals distributed across Southeast Texas, according to ABC 13.
"My mother started Houston Restaurant Weeks in 2003 to help restaurants through their hardest month, and that mission has never mattered more than it does right now," Katie Stone, president of The Cleverley Stone Foundation, said in a statement announcing the event July 18.
Since 2003, the program has raised more than $23 million for the Houston Food Bank, funding the equivalent of over 70 million meals. Last year's event generated over $1.6 million in direct food bank donations.
