A man living just miles from Friendswood faces felony charges after a year-long undercover investigation found he allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl, Harris County Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen announced.

Pedro Solis, 54, of Alvin was arrested Thursday, Aug. 6, near Pearland and charged with online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony carrying two to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. A conviction requires mandatory sex offender registration.

Year-long investigation

Investigators with Harris County Precinct One's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began the operation in August 2025, according to ABC13. An undercover detective posed as a high school student on summer vacation. Over several months, Solis allegedly sent explicit messages and a photo of himself from the waist down to the detective, believing he was communicating with a teenager.

Court records cited by investigators also show Solis allegedly bragged about sitting naked in his driveway while waiting for Amazon deliveries. He referenced Amazon drivers multiple times during the months-long exchange, authorities said.

Solis was making plans to meet the undercover detective when he was arrested. Pearland Police assisted.

"Predators beware, our detectives patrol cyber space and they will catch you," Rosen said, according to CW39. "We are going to keep at this and keep doing all we can to protect children."
