Clear Brook dropped to 1-5 on the season after Barbers Hill rolled to a 72-11 victory Thursday, Oct. 1, at Challenger Columbia Stadium.

Barbers Hill's offense piled up 485 total yards against the Wolverines. Senior quarterback Luke Babin completed 11 of 14 passes for 235 yards and four touchdowns, according to the Baytown Sun. Sophomore backup Jax Mitchell added seven completions on nine attempts for 73 yards and two more scores.

Miles Spurlock carried 11 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns, MaxPreps reported. Braylon Fisher caught five passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Kaegan Morton added six catches for 88 yards and two scores.

The Eagles are 6-0.

Barbers Hill, competing in Class 6A for the first time after reaching the 5A Division I state quarterfinals last year, entered the game averaging 41.7 points, according to the Galveston County Daily News. They scored 72 against the Wolverines a week after beating Clear Creek 65-13.

The 61-point margin is the largest deficit of the season for head coach Patrick Sanders' squad. Clear Brook now sits at 0-3 in District 18-6A, eighth in the standings, riding a five-game losing streak since a 27-26 Week 1 win over Madison on Aug. 28.

The district losses have been lopsided. Deer Park beat the Wolverines 54-7 on Thursday, Sept. 17. Clear Falls followed with a 52-21 win on Friday, Sept. 25. Then came Thursday's 72-11 result against the Eagles.

The skid mirrors a longer trend. Clear Brook has lost 15 of its last 16 games dating to last season, when the Wolverines finished 0-10, according to MaxPreps.

Clear Brook gets a bye before hosting Clear Lake at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in a District 18-6A matchup. Barbers Hill visits Dickinson at 7 p.m. that same night.
