Six Clear Brook High School students brought home top honors from the 77th annual Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo, placing across agricultural mechanics, livestock and creative arts competitions.

Trevor Schilling earned Grand Champion and Ariana Zepeda earned Reserve Champion in Open Agricultural Mechanics, according to Clear Creek ISD. In the competition, students build hands-on projects applying skills from their agricultural science classes. Judges evaluate entries within classes and divisions, with top projects advancing for overall champion honors.

Two more Clear Brook students placed in agricultural mechanics. Jackson Buford was named a Division Champion, and Autum Burton earned Reserve Champion.

Burton pulled double duty. She placed third overall in the senior division of the Creative Arts competition on Wednesday, Sept. 23, and received a blue ribbon for a second photography entry.

In the livestock arena, Matthew Artiga placed first in his class and earned Reserve Champion Exotic Heifer during the heifer and steer shows on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Josephine Hooks placed sixth with her goat.

The rodeo ran Sept. 18-26 at 7601 Red Bluff Road in Pasadena. CW39 reported that proceeds from the event benefit students and education in five area school districts, including Clear Creek ISD.

Clear Brook's results were part of a broader CCISD showing. Students from other district high schools, including Clear Springs High School, also earned champion-level placements in agricultural mechanics and livestock.

CCISD's FFA program includes more than 375 students across five high schools. The district operates two agricultural facilities, including the West Agriculture Center at 2155 W. NASA Blvd. in Webster and the East Agriculture Center at 3255 Delesandri Lane in Kemah.

The district holds its own annual livestock show each January, a separate event featuring nearly 200 students. No date has been announced for the 2027 edition.
