Friendswood kept rolling Friday, beating Pasadena South Houston 52-14 on Sept. 25 to stay undefeated through five games.

The Mustangs are now 5-0. They play in District 11-5A-I and entered the week having outscored opponents 242-24 through four games, a stretch that included an 80-0 shutout of Fort Bend Dulles in Week 4, according to the Galveston County Daily News. That Dulles win set program records for largest margin of victory and largest shutout.

The Houston Chronicle reported the 80-0 result was Friendswood's first 80-point game since the Mustangs beat Clear Falls 84-8 in 2016. Through four games, the offense was averaging 60.5 points per contest.

Senior quarterback Joshua Brister has led the offense all season, throwing three touchdown passes in the Aug. 28 opener against Texas City. Receivers Jackson Owens and Nate Roher, running back Trip Bateman and receiver Peyton Lowe have all been key contributors through the first five weeks.

Friendswood hosts Iowa Colony in Week 6. Iowa Colony and Richmond Randle both moved into District 11-5A-I this year after meeting in the Region III-5A-II championship game the previous two seasons, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

Clear Brook and Clear Lake drop district games

Both area teams in District 18-6A fell to 0-2 in league play Friday, according to CW39 Houston.

Clear Brook lost to Clear Falls 52-21, dropping to 1-4 overall. The Wolverines have now lost four straight after opening the season with a win. Their Week 4 district opener was a 54-7 loss to Deer Park.

Clear Lake fell 62-7 to Deer Park, which entered the week ranked No. 24 in the Class 6A Dave Campbell's Texas Football poll, per CW39 Houston. The Falcons are now 2-3 overall and 0-2 in district after also losing 72-0 to Dickinson in Week 4.

Week 6 schedule

Clear Brook's Week 6 opponent, Barbers Hill, improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in district with a 65-13 win over Clear Creek on Friday, according to the Galveston County Daily News. The Wolverines face that unbeaten squad at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Challenger Columbia Stadium.
