Clear Lake High School is the only high school in Clear Creek ISD history to earn the National PTA School of Excellence designation, the district announced Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The two-year recognition, covering 2025–2027, places the Bay Area Boulevard campus among just 321 schools nationwide selected this cycle. Only three other CCISD schools have ever received the honor, and none at the high school level.

"This honor is especially meaningful because only four schools in Clear Creek ISD have ever earned the National PTA School of Excellence designation—and Clear Lake High School is the only high school among them," Principal Liz Raska said.

The designation is awarded by the National PTA to schools that complete a structured, year-long process grounded in the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships. Schools must gather community feedback, take measurable action and demonstrate progress in strengthening ties between families and classrooms. For parents at Clear Lake High, that translates to more open communication channels, regular feedback opportunities and data-driven decisions about how the school engages families.

For one of the district's seven high schools, coordinating that effort across roughly 2,500 students meant sustained work from parents, teachers, staff and community partners. PTSA President Bekky Kinsey called the process "a labor of love, dedication and determination."

"This award reflects what can happen when parents, students, teachers, staff and community partners come together," Kinsey said. "This award belongs to our entire Falcon family!"

Clear Lake High, which opened in 1972, already holds a separate National School of Character designation. The PTA School of Excellence recognition runs through 2027.
