Four people face organized criminal activity charges after Friendswood police recovered stolen lawn equipment within 17 minutes of a Sept. 11 theft.

Officers responded about 8:32 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, to the 2100 block of North Mission Circle. A caller reported three men had grabbed equipment from a lawn crew's trailer and driven off in a white sedan, according to the Friendswood Police Department.

The theft set off a quick pursuit. Using what the department called investigative tools, officers identified the vehicle and determined it was heading toward League City on FM 518.

About 17 minutes after the initial call, officers stopped the sedan at FM 518 and Bay Area Boulevard in League City, several miles south of where the theft occurred. All four occupants were taken into custody.

Two weed trimmers and an edger matching the stolen equipment's description were recovered from the vehicle, KGTX 7 reported. Officers also found other equipment they believe was stolen. Investigators are working with nearby law enforcement agencies to identify possible owners of those additional items.

The Galveston County District Attorney's Office accepted charges of engaging in organized criminal activity against Aerius Banks-Behn, Makayla Wilburn, Deondre Keller and Dyki Keller. Bond was set at $40,000 each.

The department did not disclose what investigative tools officers used to locate the sedan, and no court date for the four defendants has been announced.
