A new resale shop selling shoes, jewelry, board games and children's clothing is open for business on NASA Parkway in Webster.

Chant's Nook and Cranny Resale opened in late August at 100 E. NASA Parkway, Suite 307. The store plans a grand opening from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, featuring door prizes, drinks and snacks, Community Impact reported.

The shop's owner described the venture on the store's Facebook page as a longtime dream to run a small business and give back to the community.

Webster is roughly 80% commercial, with about 12,500 residents and a spot along the I-45 Gulf Freeway corridor that draws about 250,000 vehicles daily, according to a Community Impact feature on the city's development. Despite having about one-tenth the population of League City, Webster's sales tax allocations have come close to matching League City's each January since 2016, Community Impact reported.

Katie Vela, Webster's marketing and tourism specialist, said in a March 2026 Community Impact feature that the city's commercial identity shapes how it plans for growth. "We are a predominantly commercial city with limited undeveloped land, so being strategic about how and where we grow has always mattered," Vela said.
