A local fishing YouTuber known as Captain Crunch Boats was stabbed from behind while livestreaming at the Clear Lake Parks public boat ramps on NASA Parkway on Monday, Aug. 17, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The attacker remains unidentified. No arrest has been made, and HCSO is asking the public for help identifying the suspect.

Captain Crunch, who runs a YouTube channel recording activity at the boat ramp, was in the middle of a 75-minute livestream when the attack occurred. The video, now part of the HCSO investigation, captured the entire incident. Earlier in the stream, Captain Crunch can be heard arguing with several boaters he was recording. Then an unknown person approached from behind and stabbed him, sending the camera to the ground.

Bystanders can be heard on the video yelling at the attacker to stop. The same boaters who had been arguing with Captain Crunch moments earlier jumped in to help and called for assistance on the livestream.

Harrison Woods, a fishing guide who frequents the ramp, told ABC13 the attack appeared targeted.

"It seems like the stabbing was personal because if you watch the video, the guy comes from behind him," Woods said.

Woods described Captain Crunch as a familiar, regular presence at the ramp. He said the YouTuber is out there nearly every day, is friendly and records boaters for entertainment content on his channel.

The suspect is also accused by investigators of slashing the tires on a black truck belonging to another fisherman at the scene. That fisherman told ABC13 his truck looks exactly like the one Captain Crunch drives, and he believes the suspect targeted the wrong vehicle.

Captain Crunch suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital. He posted on social media promising a complete update.

HCSO investigators have obtained video that may show the suspect but have not found a clear shot of the person's face. The agency has not released a suspect description or announced a scheduled update in the case.
