A halal Wagyu smash burger and gourmet hot dog food truck has opened on Bay Area Boulevard, giving the Webster-Friendswood corridor a new late-night dining option.

Juicy Joint opened at 1806 W. Bay Area Blvd. in September and will hold a three-day grand opening celebration starting Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m., Community Impact reported. The first 100 guests that day will receive a free entrée, and the full menu will be 50% off during the event. A ribbon cutting, raffle prizes, a DJ and free swag from Uber Eats are also planned.

The food truck uses 100% halal Wagyu and prime beef, according to the Juicy Joint website. Owner Ahmad Kilani launched the concept in October 2024 near Houston's Galleria as a mobile food truck aimed at filling what the company calls a gap in the local halal market, WhatNow Houston reported.

Kilani, a native of Irbid, Jordan, immigrated to the United States in 2015 to pursue a master's degree, according to a 2022 CanvasRebel profile. He worked at Houston's first halal food truck, Abu Omar Halal, before founding the Nashville hot chicken chain Clutch City Cluckers in February 2021.

The Bay Area Boulevard location is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 3 a.m., per the Juicy Joint website.

Menu highlights include the Mushroom Groove Deluxe, a Wagyu beef patty with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, truffle mayo and caramelized onions. The food truck also serves loaded fries and milkshakes.

The Webster-area truck joins locations in Houston, Humble, Katy and Dallas. Kilani told the Houston Business Journal on Monday, Oct. 5, that he plans to shift to brick-and-mortar locations going forward and expects to begin franchising both Juicy Joint and Clutch City Cluckers by early 2027.
